Traveling waves as solutions of factorized hyperbolic equation

Abstract: We consider the solutions of a 1D linear factorized second-order hyperbolic equation that describes the wave propagation in an inhomogeneous moving medium. The necessary and sufficient condition is found under which both waves propagate independently, that is, without reflection. Possible variants of wave structure are described.
